Local Church Hiring Guidelines

The local church that requests to hire a pastor at the local level without Conference funds MUST follow the following Guidelines:

Step 1
Contact with the Personnel/Human Resources
department of the Central California Conference.

Step 2
There must be a formal Church Board action that specifically states that there will be no tithe funds used in the compensation of the hired person.

Step 3
The potential person must be interviewed and recommended by the Conference Administration; and must be approved by the Conference Personnel and Executive Committees.

Step 4
The person will be paid through courtesy payroll.

Step 5
The person will be reviewed annually.
